Cataloguing Deputy Team Leader

We are growing rapidly and are currently looking for a Deputy Team Leader to join us at this exciting time. 

As a Deputy Team Leader your responsibilities will be:

  • Working as a part of the Cataloguing Department producing high-quality documentation in accordance with standards and specifications relevant to customer requirements
  • Reviewing customer drawings and datasets and quality assuring that the data sets match
  • Following customer processes and desk instructions to carry out tasks
  • Supporting the reporting of progress to key stakeholders
  • Create initial breakdowns of new major equipment to allow for creation on new IPCs.
  • Represent the Company at meetings with the Client.  Either at AWL or Abbey Wood.
  • Visit and liaise with COMS/Waterfront to ascertain correct fit of equipment fitted to vessels.  This can mean a survey on ship.
  • Visit and liaise with OEMs/Enabling Contractors to ascertain correct spares and breakdowns of new equipment in preparation for new IPCs.
  • Visit and liaise with OEMs/Enabling Contractors to discuss major design changes to existing equipment/IPCs.
  • QA Cataloguing Engineers work for accuracy.
  • Assist mentoring new Team members as and when required.
  • Liaise with AWL Programming Department to discuss and implement improvements to AWL Cataloguing Software.

Essential Requirements:

  • Capability to evaluate and appraise source technical information
  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office as well as good keyboard skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills at all levels
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work as an effective team member
  • Drive and enthusiasm to achieve customer quality criteria
  • Ability to obtain SC clearance

​​Desirable requirements:

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with associated parts lists and understand the breakdown structure of an equipment including complete systems
  • Working Knowledge of Maritime Technical Publications and processes
  • Experience of liaising with customers and information suppliers as appropriate
  • Working knowledge of CSIS, NMCRL, BR1, SSDD and SDD
