Summary of the role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of People (Human Resources) to lead our People Operations Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and plans that align with our business goals, enhancing employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will have responsibility for working with our Senior Leadership Team providing guidance coaching and support in relation to People management. 

Responsibilities

  1. Strategic People Leadership: Develop and deliver People strategies that support the company’s overall business objectives, demonstrating a strong understanding of the key business drivers and commercial context.
  2. Talent Acquisition and Management: Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring the attraction and retention of top talent including designing and managing a competitive compensation and benefits program.
  3. Employee Relations: Foster a positive work environment that support our values through effective communication, conflict resolution, and employee engagement initiatives.
  4. Performance Management: Improve current and implement new performance management systems and processes to ensure employees meet their objectives and receive regular feedback.
  5. Training and Development: Working with our Academy Lead, identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and career growth, including coaching and mentorship of managers on People management.
  6. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all Employment laws and regulations and manage employee records and documentation.
  7. People Metrics and Reporting: Monitor and report on People metrics to inform decision-making and improve People processes.
  8. Culture and Diversity: Promote and embed our company values to deliver a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  9. Continuous Sustainable Improvement: Drive and support continuous sustainable improvement and best practice both in People Operations and across the wider business.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum Chartered CIPD.
  • Proven experience as a Head of HR or in a senior HR leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, Employment laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective People strategies.
  • Experience with HR software and tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of managing complex TUPE scenarios.
