Parts/Codification Engineer

We are experiencing significant growth, so we are currently looking for Parts/Codification Engineer to join us at this exciting time!

As a Parts/Codification Engineer your responsibilities will be:

  • To confirm Item of Supply (IoS) identity, identifying True Manufacturer and Equipment Supplier identifying references.
  • To screen identifying references against UK CSIS and NSPA NATO Master Cross List systems to identify any pre-existing NSNs.
  • To identify corresponding NATO Commercial & Government Entity Codes (NCAGE) to identify manufacturers and suppliers.
  • To locate or obtain source data, in compliance with Defcon 117, though manufacturer or supplier websites, catalogues, datasheets, google searches etc, to support new codification requests.
  • To submit eTasking requests though UK CSIS in accordance with UK eTasking Guide, for allocation of new NSNs, or update of existing NSNs, and introduction to appropriate UK Base Inventory System.
  • To progress items through to NSN allocation, resolving any queries raised by the UK National Codification Bureau or authorised codification contractor.

To be considered for this role you will need:

  • ​ Extraction/interpretation of technical data from engineering drawings, specifications, catalogues, etc.
  • A working understanding of the NATO Supply and Classification System.
  • An ability to deal courteously and efficiently with MOD and Commercial customers by both telephone and letter/email.
  • Ability to use AWL Computer/Software package, ISIS, NMCRL systems.
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings to suggest Approved Item Name codes (AIN) and NATO Supply Class (NSC).
