Challenge
Client was in the process of retiring and replacing one of their systems.
They only knew the status of 40% of their item list which was causing them significant issues in managing their assets’ lifecycle.
Much of the original system was obsolete, especially the software which was not receiving security updates, but was still required.
Outcomes
Completed a robust statusing process that increased the client’s known lifecycle status of their platform items from 40% to 99%.
Identified obsolescence resolutions such as alternative items and backward compatibility for product updates where necessary.
Improved the configuration and version control of the BoM file.
Client has more informed knowledge of their assets’ hardware and software lifecycle status and risk.
