Obsolescence Engineer

We now have a vacancy for an Obsolescence Engineer where you will work remotely and include the following:

Responsibilities:

Support the Obsolescence Management function providing technical knowledge associated with, but not limited to:

  • Data cleansing
  • Item list management
  • Item lifecycle status
  •  Creating Item list risk reports
  • Technical liaison with Obsolescence Manager, customers and OEMs supporting the delivery of requirements iaw the contract.
  • Understand OM policy and plan ensuring compliance with OM related standards, including but not limited to:
    • BSEN IEC62402 Obsolescence Management
    • MOD OM Policy / Guidance
  • Support the development and management of DiamondOM® tool and environment.
  • Maintaining continuous professional development for OM knowledge and competency.
  • Be a member of the International Institute of Obsolescence Management and attend events
  • Comply with Allan Webb Ltd company policies and procedures.

Skills/Experience

  • Knowledge of good engineering practices
  • An Understanding of the lifecycle processes and mechanisms that need to be put in place to manage obsolescence of Hardware (electrical, electronic, mechanical, etc) and Software for products, systems, equipment and supporting documentation and data to minimise the obsolescence risk posed to programmes.
  • Knowledge of IEC 62402
  • Awareness of the International Institute of Obsolescence Management, with a desire to become qualified as an Associate Member of IIOM
