We are pleased to have received a Bronze Award from the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme, a scheme that gives awards to employers who support those who serve, or have served, in the armed forces and their families.
Allan Webb adopted the Armed Forces Covenant at the end of 2017, pledging support to the armed forces community with a covenant that includes working with service leavers and veterans to provide a flexible working environment and employment opportunities that take into account the unique demands placed upon service personnel and their families. For a company that has provided essential services to the defence industry for 60 years, it makes perfect sense to draw on the skills and experience of veterans. In turn, it is essential to provide our veterans and reservists with the working environment and support they need.
As part of that support, we raised the flag on Monday 25 June for Armed Forces Day, which this year falls on Saturday 30 June. On 27 June, we celebrated Reservists Day by encouraging those of our employees who give up their spare time to serve in the Reserve Forces to wear their military uniforms to work with pride. The additional training they receive in their military life adds to their professionalism at work and we’re all very proud to work with them.
The contribution they make to the armed forces and their dedication, professionalism and commitment to serving our country does not go unrecognised at Allan Webb.
