Introduction to the ASD S Series

What are the AIA/ASD S Series Standards?

The AIA ASD S Series of specifications relate to the performance of activities commonly known as Integrated Product Support or Integrated Logistic Support. 
There are 7 Standards S1000D to S6000T focusing on the various activities and SX000i which explains the use of this group of Standards. 

What will I learn from this e-Learning Package?

Allan Webb’s e-Learning modules introduce each of the standards, explains who develops and owns them and the disciplines that each of the Standards covers. It gives an overview on the value of applying these Standards to systems and projects.

S1000D Introduction ASD/AIA S1000D

What is the course?

An overview of Technical Publications i.a.w. ASD/AIA S1000D which is the international specification for the procurement and production of technical publications using a Common Source Database.

Who is it for?

Those new to technical documentation, or who interface with it and wish to have an initial overview of the requirements of ASD/AIA S1000D

S2000M Introduction    ASD/AIA S2000M

What is the course?

An overview of ASDs 2000M which defines the processes and procedures and provides the information for data exchange to be used for material management throughout the lifecycle of a product.

Who is it for?

Those new to data exchange or who interface with it and who wish to have an overview of the requirements of ASD/AIA S2000M
 

S3000L Introduction    ASD/AIA 3000L

What is the course?

An overview of ASDs 3000L which defines the general requirements for Integrated Product Support, configuration management, the analysis activities and the data model for information exchange governing the performance of Logistics Support Analysis during the life cycle of any complex, technical system.

Who is it for?

Those new to Integrated Product Support or who interface with it and wish to have an overview of the requirements under ASD/AIA 3000L.
 

S4000P Introduction    ASD/AIA 4000P

What is the course?

An overview of ASDs 4000P which is the international specification for developing and continuously improving preventive maintenance.

Who is it for?

Those new to preventive maintenance or who interface with it and who wish to have an overview of the requirements under ASD/AIA 4000P.
 

S5000F Introduction    ASD/AIA 5000F

What is the course?

An overview of ASDs 5000F which defines the processes, information and data required to provide in-service data feedback.

Who is it for?

Those who use or provide in-service operational and maintenance data feedback.
 

S6000T Introduction    ASD/AIA 6000T

What is the course?

An overview of ASDs 6000T which currently defines the process for performing a Training Needs Analysis, including the definition of training requirements, learning objectives and the identification of training curriculum.  It also identifies the data model for information exchange with the other S-Series specifications.

Who is it for?

Those who are party to a Training Needs Analysis either as the analyst or the commissioner of the analysis.
